1.1 Hyundai Motor UK Limited (“Hyundai”) takes the privacy of your information very seriously We have therefore developed this privacy policy to inform you of the data we collect, what we do with your information, what we do to keep it secure as well as the rights and choices you have over your personal information.

2.4 We may, in further dealings with you, extend this information to include your address, purchases, services used, and subscriptions, records of conversations and agreements and payment transactions.

2.5. You are under no statutory or contractual requirement or obligation to provide us with your personal information; however, we require at least the information above in order for us to deal with you as a prospect or customer in an efficient and effective manner.

The legal basis for processing your data is based on your specific consent, performance of a contract compliance with a legal obligation our legitimate interest that we will have stated at the point the information was initially provided, therefore we will not store, process or transfer your data outside the parties detailed above unless we have an appropriate lawful reason to do so.

7. How long we keep your information for

7.1. We retain a record of your personal information in order to provide you with a high quality and consistent service. We will always retain your personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Legislation, and never retain your information for longer than is necessary. Unless otherwise required by law.

7.2. For customers, your data will be stored for a period of 3 years after the end of any warranty period at which point if we not heard from you we will cease processing the data. For any lapsed customers we will process your data for 3 years after you no longer own the vehicle unless we have had heard from you during that time. For prospects if we do not hear from you for 3 years and 3 months after our initial contact with you we will cease processing your data. In all the scenarios above the data will be retained in a suppressed folder for a further period of 3 years after we cease processing, at which point it will be anonymised if we still have not heard from you.
